John Priest Greene Society

The John Priest Greene Society honors the legacy of William Jewell’s longest-serving president. Dr. Greene’s devotion to the College for 30 years as president and 20 years as a Trustee has had a paramount influence on Jewell’s emergence as a national liberal arts college.

How Members Honor Dr. Greene’s Legacy
Being part of the John Priest Greene Society means being part of a nationwide network of alumni, parents and friends who are active advocates for William Jewell. Every year, Society members commit to the following:

  • Give a minimum annual leadership gift of $1,000 to the Jewell Fund.
  • Refer prospective students who would benefit from the life-changing Jewell experience.
  • Promote the mission of the College in their communities.
  • Encourage others to support Jewell in similar ways.

Membership Benefits
Supporters who make the long-term commitment to Jewell by joining the John Priest Greene Society will be invited to an annual President’s Reception. In addition, the College will recognize you in the annual President’s Report and provide a forum to keep you updated on Jewell news. When you make a first-time leadership gift of $1,000 or more, a personalized brick will be placed on the Quad in your honor.

Supporting the Jewell Fund
Gifts to the Jewell Fund support vital aspects of a William Jewell education. Jewell Fund gifts are unrestricted and applied to the areas of greatest need. Examples of how a healthy Jewell Fund can positively impact the Jewell experience include:

  • Enhancing scholarship support
  • Expanding academic curriculum resources
  • Improving campus technology
  • Maintaining campus aesthetics
