New Giving Society Has Welcomed Over 100 Inaugural Members

A number of truly remarkable individuals have helped shape the lives of young people for 160 years at William Jewell College. One of these was distinguished leader and visionary Dr. John Priest Greene. As the longest-serving president in William Jewell’s history, Dr. Greene devoted 30 years as president and 20 years as a Trustee. During this significant service, occurring in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, he established strong ideals for the College that remains central to our mission in the 21st century.

In honor of Dr. Greene’s enduring legacy, we’ve created a new leadership giving society for the Jewell Fund, aptly titled the John Priest Greene Society. This new society recognizes our important stakeholders who provide a long-term commitment to the College through an annual leadership gift of $1,000 or more to the Jewell Fund and are also active advocates for William Jewell. Members receive special recognition in the President’s Report and receive a quarterly update from our current president, Dr. David Sallee.

Over 100 households have become members of the John Priest Greene Society this year; we invite you to join these founding members with a leadership gift to the Jewell Fund of $1,000 or more. In honor of your membership, you will receive a personalized brick on the walkway that encircles the Quad. Your brick will serve as a daily reminder to our students that people like you are standing with them. For more information, and/or to become a member, visit the John Priest Greene Society web site at www.jewellalumni.com/johnpriestgreene.

The John Priest Greene Society can have a lasting effect on strengthening Jewell for future generations. We are grateful for those who are coming together to further the mission of William Jewell.
